Bobby Grant scored two first half goals which were enough to claim the bragging rights at the Neuven Stadium.

A bright start for the Boro saw us take the lead seven minutes into the game with an emphatic finish from top goalscorer Bobby Grant, who made it two in two games in the process. The 31-year-old was played in on goal by Kole Hall, he then outmuscled the centre back and drilled a shot across the goalkeeper from outside the box, finding the bottom corner with an expertly taken finish. Lancaster looked to turn the tide, creating a great chance to equalise but a header was sent just over the crossbar by Liam Brockbank fifteen minutes into the game.

Shortly after, a cross-come-shot from the left by Bobby Grant almost caught out the Lancaster goalkeeper who watched the effort go narrowly wide. A clear denial of a goal-scoring opportunity saw Lancaster down to ten men, as Lewis Fensom was sent for an early shower after a foul on Bobby Grant as he looked to be in on goal. Bobby himself took advantage and doubled his tally for the afternoon from the penalty spot after twenty-eight minutes, sliding the ball into the bottom right corner and sending Downing the wrong way.

A disallowed goal for offside didn’t change the momentum as Radcliffe continued to be rampant in the first half. Early chances in the second half for Lancaster looked to change the complexion of the game. However, many wasted free headers over the bar quickly became the pattern of the opening ten minutes as Lancaster battled to claw back the scoreline.

Later in the half, Adam Dawson tried his luck from range with a fierce volley which dipped over the bar and failed to trouble the Lancaster goalkeeper. Lancaster continued to ask questions of the Radcliffe defence but each time were answered by a resilient effort from the Boro. Ultimately leading to Radcliffe taking all three points and a second league win in as many games for the first time this season.
