Radcliffe FC are delighted to welcome 26 year-old defender Courtney Meppen-Walter to the club. Courtney’s previous clubs include Manchester City, Carlisle and Chorley, he joins us from AFC Telford United. Courtney will give Radcliffe some much needed experience at the back, whilst also being a presence to deny oncoming attackers. He is also able to play in a defensive midfield role, giving Fowls more options when required. The former England youth player doesn’t shy away from contributing to goals either, scoring over 25 goals in his senior career. He is certainly a welcome addition to the Boro ranks, here’s what Lee Fowler had to say about him…

“Courtney is someone who I’ve seen and admired as a player over the years, I have followed his career through Chorley and Telford. We knew he had offers from other clubs higher up the leagues, but the key factor was location and timing, this gave us a great chance of getting his signature. He is seeing what we are trying to build at Radcliffe and it’s a key signing for the club.

We will always try to improve and bring in this calibre of player that fits into our club and its budget. We have a very good player on our hands and getting to know him, we also have a great person. I’m looking forward to working with him. There is lots of work to be done on his side and also ours to get him at his best and everything we have thrown at him so far he has taken in his stride with a smile on his face.”

Welcome to the Radcliffe, Courtney!
