Anthony Johnson and Bernard Morley add a new defender to their ranks.

Radcliffe FC are pleased to announce the signing of defender, Harry Brockbank. The 25-year-old joins the club as a free agent, after recently spending a year with St Patrick’s Athletic in the Irish Premier Division.

The Bolton-born player spent 17 years with the Wanderers before ending his stay in 2022. In that time, Brockbank featured in the Championship, League One and League Two for Ian Evatt’s side, captaining Bolton on a handful of occasions which is something he described as being ‘a dream come true’.

Predominantly a right back but also able to fare as a wing back or a centre back, Brockbank later crossed the pond in a move to the second division of America with El Paso Locomotive, making 11 appearances in Texas with 2 goals to his name before returning to the British Isles to sign for St Patrick’s Athletic.

In Ireland, Brockbank featured nearly 30 times in a one-year spell which includes plying his trade in the UEFA Conference League against the likes of NS Mura and CSKA Sofia, eventually leaving the Saints at the conclusion of their season after winning the FAI Cup.

He now arrives at M26 ready to kick on and help keep the club at the summit of the NPL Premier Division, and we are delighted to have him with us! After putting pen-to-paper, he explained his happiness to sign for the Boro and get going under the management of Bernard and Jonno.

Brockbank, said: ‘I’m delighted to have joined Radcliffe, I’ve been in training now for a few weeks and enjoyed my time getting to know the lads and working with the managers!

Obviously the team has been doing well so far this season and I was hoping I could come in and help carry on the good form the lads are in, hopefully ending the campaign with some silverware to our name.

I’ve got a few friends already here like Nicky and Luca and I’ve known the gaffers for a while now, so as soon as I heard about the interest it was something I wanted to be a part of. I’m just looking forward to getting out there now, start playing football and hopefully win something at the end of the year.’

Our new signing comes into contention this week, and could feature in tonight’s fixture away at Lancaster City.

Welcome to the Neuven Stadium, Harry!
