MANAGER'S PREVIEW: Radcliffe vs Ramsbottom United - Evo-Stik play-off Semi-Final

Radcliffe boss Jon Macken is wanting to give Boro fans the reward of promotion ahead of Tuesday's Evo-Stik West play-off Semi-Final against Ramsbottom United.

The Neuven Stadium-outfit face local rivals Rams at home for the second time in three games, but this time for a place in the division's promotion decider this weekend.

Macken has praised the supporters' loyalty and belief in his side after finishing runners-up to Atherton Collieries, and wants to give something back to the 'magnificent' Boro faithful.

"It’s been a great season, a great achievement from the lads and everyone at the club to bring back the support as well," said Macken.

"We had over 100 fans against Chasetown away from home, which was fantastic away support and I’d like to say a massive thank you to the fans this season.

"They have driven us along in games which have been tough this season and they keep coming, keep believing and keep driving us forward. We want to give them the rewards they deserve – not just what we deserve on-the-pitch. It’s been magnificent support this season."

Boro finished the league campaign by slumping to a 2-0 defeat away to Chasetown, but Macken claimed it shouldn't stop his players from relishing the challenge that awaits Radcliffe on Tuesday evening.

He added: "We had to have one eye on Tuesday, but we had to do that (make changes). We’ve got to get everyone as fit as we possibly can. We want to give other players the opportunity to put in a good performance and that’s what we did Saturday.

"We’ve built a squad for that reason, and the lads should be relishing Tuesday. If not, then there’s something wrong. Like I said to them in the dressing room after Saturday, we have a massive game for the club against our local rivals.

"It's a play-off derby – what more can you ask for? Fantastic. I’m sure my players will chomping at the bit and raring to go, come-Tuesday."
