Radcliffe return to action against Bamber Bridge on Saturday, after the harsh midweek defeat against Whitby Town. With contrasting form between the two sides, the Boro will be looking to get back to winning ways against the visitors who have only won once on the road all season.

The Opposition

Last season, Bamber Bridge were play-off finalists after finishing third in the table on 73 points and only narrowly missed out on promotion in the last moment of the season. However, just over a third of the way into the campaign they sit 17th in the table this time round, although with eight draws the season has not been poor for Saturday’s visitors as they have only lost four times in the league, albeit three of those being on the road.

The Brig have shared the goals around with 13 players having contributed, but Harry Benns and Harry Scarborough have most of them. The duo have found the net 11 times, with the rest of the squad adding 17 goals to the attack.

In the last 20 meetings between the sides, Bamber Bridge have come out on top ten times, five more than Radcliffe, although last season the two games went the way of The Boro, with a 2-0 result at home and a dramatic late 3-1 win on our travels.

Ones To Watch

Jordan Hulme is one to watch in this one, the forward has proved a handful for defenders so far this season. Often drawing free kicks in dangerous areas, as well as creating space for runners in behind the opposition defence, whilst averaging nearly one goal or an assist per game in a Radcliffe shirt.

Despite a slow start to the season, Danny Edwards has shown to be a key player in the month of November for Bamber Bridge, as the midfielder has already found the net three times, he’s seemingly found a rich vein of form of late.

Last Time Out

When the two outfits met in February, Radcliffe would complete the double over the Brig in a 2-0 win at the Neuven Stadium, Ewan Bange and Jake Thompon capitalised on an early red card for experienced centre back Nathan Pond.

The resilient ten men of Bamber Bridge held out until the 77th minute but could do nothing to stop Bange’s headed effort that beat the on-rushing Luke Hutchinson, as the ‘keeper mistakenly thought he could claim Thompson’s cross.

Three points were sealed five minutes from time through Thompson, who doubled the lead when Nicky Adams’ through ball into Jude Oyibo led to him and Jake Thompson both being sent through on goal, Oyibo’s low pass eventually found Thompson who rounded the goalkeeper to roll the ball into an empty net.
