Lee Fowler adds two new signings to his squad ahead of Saturday’s league opener against Grantham Town.

Radcliffe FC are delighted to announce the signing of winger Adam Dawson, the 28 year-old’s previous clubs include Tranmere, Bristol Rovers and Southport.

Dawson joins the club after spending last season at Achyronas Liopetriou in the Cypriot second division.

Adam returns to the Boro after a brief loan spell two seasons ago, however this time round he signs on a permanent deal. He will be looking to use his quick foot and immense dribbling abilities to beat opponents, driving at players whenever possible and creating chances for both himself and the other players in the team.

Adam has been with us since the very start of preseason, featuring in nine of our ten games, excluding our 5-4 loss away at Caenarfon. He has put in some impressive performances, including putting a shift in at right back/wing back at times. Here’s what the gaffer had to say about him…

“ Adam is a talented player who has been waiting for a club to call home for a while, as a club we have supported him both on and off the pitch and his performances during pre-season have rewarded him with a deal.

If he doesn’t keep his standards and commitment we lose a very good player, he has to focus and believe in himself, he knows that myself as a manager and the club can help him in becoming both a better player and also a better person. “

The club are also delighted to welcome midfielder Nathan Valentine to the Boro, the 27 year-old joins the club from Bury AFC.

Nathan is primarily a centre midfielder, however he can also play in various other roles, including as an attacking midfielder, a defensive midfielder and as a right back. His previous clubs include a few of our opponents this season, including Matlock Town, Scarborough Athletic and Stalybridge Celtic, so his Northern Premier League experience is second to none. He is also a returning player having featured for us in the 2015/16 season, in which he made 49 appearances for the Boro. Here’s what the gaffer had to say about him…

“ Nathan is someone who has been at these levels before and has also been a captain of a few teams within the league. What stood out for me with him, 12 months ago we had a business meeting regarding the under 21’s, on that day his attitude and drive left me coming away thinking he was what I want in my players. However, due to his deal with Bury we could never talk about him playing for us.

He has been at Bury previously and will be no stranger to the club, playing for the club previously in the 2015/16 season.

He has nearly recovered from a shoulder injury and is now back from America, once we found out he was free agent and hadn’t signed yet at Bury we had the opportunity to talk with him. He will most certainly add to our group, I am looking forward to working with him and him being able to understand our work ethic from both as myself as a manager and the club as a whole. “
