Radcliffe ran out 4-0 winners at the Neuven stadium against Newcastle Town.
The Boro got off to a perfect start when Sam Billington won the ball in midfield before playing it to Ben Wharton who controlled it and volleyed into the top corner from the edge of the box.
Ben Wharton got his and the Boro’s second five minutes later when Tunde Owolabi played him through and he drilled his shot across the keeper and into the bottom corner.
Tunde Owolabi almost added a third half an hour in after he rounded the keeper but a Newcastle defender got back to block the shot.
The Boro started the second half just as they started the first as Sam Billington grabbed his first goal for the club courtesy of a brilliant low cross from Scott Metcalfe.
Matt Crothers went close to adding a fourth when he tried his luck from the edge of the box and his low effort whistled just past the post.
Callum Grogan very nearly scored form a corner for the Boro with ten minutes left to play as he caught a volley sweetly but it went narrowly wide of the post.
The Boro nearly added another when Elliott Rokka let loose from 30 yards but his shot went inches wide.
Boro did get their fourth in the last minute of normal time when Louis Myers got a goal as he calmly converted a Shelton Payne cross at the back post.
It was nearly five in the last minute of added time when Matt Crothers was played through one on one with the Newcastle town goalkeeper but his shot hit the post.
The Boro gained another valuable three points at the top of the table with a brilliant 4-0 win at the Neuven Stadium.
Jon Macken spoke to Radcliffe TV after the game. The Full interview is available on our Youtube Channel along with Ben Wharton.
Macken Said: “I didn’t think we played that well first half, I disappointed with our energy, told them at half time and I thought the second half performance was very good. Real intensity, game management, creating chances. And once again our defence was tremendous today against a good team.”
